Fashion Forecasting & Replenishment
The Problem
Clothing and General Merchandise divisions of one of Western Europe’s largest hypermarket chains with more than 1,500 stores used multiple applications to provide their forecasting models and a reactive order-point system to move inventory from warehouse to store. With the aim of cutting down on time to plan and execute and improve supply chain efficiency, the company implemented Dataviva’s Demand Forecasting and Allocation & Replenishment solutions.
Results
The deployment of our Forecasting and Replenishment solution allowed for faster time-to-market at the start of each season, easier allocation and automated replenishment. The added efficiencies allowed the retailer to get positive ROI on the project in a few weeks after implementation.
Dataviva Demand Forecasting yielded automated new-item forecasts, while our Supply Chain Planning solution optimized the allocation of prepacks across a complex, multiple-tier supply chain leading to a significant decrease in inventory at store and DC locations and better sell-through while overall service levels improved. Finally, our team implemented next-generation smoothing & capping of warehouse-to-store transfers, aligning warehouse labor and shipping capacity with store-need using ROI-based prioritization.
